Amiga Technical Resource

A bit about me, in case you were wondering...

Anthony Hoffman

No site would be complete without the token "about me" page, so here it is.

I'm Anthony Hoffman from Christchurch, New Zealand.

My fields of specialties include: digital and analogue circuit design, embedded system software design, conventional analogue and MPT1327 trunked radio communications network fault finding and maintenance, marine electrical engineering and remote DC power systems.

I've been using Amiga computers from 1996 through to today. My work with these machines ranges from hardware/software technical support through to surface mount component level repair. All of my private work is based upon Amiga systems, primarily an A4000T/060 which is also hosting this website.

Since the age of 10 I've had a deep interest in electronics so have gained a lot of self-taught knowledge since then, in addition to over 17 years' experience in the radio communications industry, plus various Polytechnic based training. Previously I lived in the small port town of Bluff working on the local fishing boat fleet. This marine electrical engineering work included complete electrical system design/install, alternator maintenance, custom electronic design & build plus electronic repairs. At the time I was simultaneously working full-time for a local communications company. The combination of work was varied and interesting but quickly grew to a demanding level. So when the opportunity arose to join the internationally acclaimed Tait Electronics Ltd in 2001, it was time to expand my career path by moving to Christchurch.

Outside of work I enjoy visiting friends, beer, acoustic and electric guitar, tramping/hiking, mountain biking and snowboarding during winter.

Work hard, play harder.
